There are plenty of people who go and watch non-league football every week as well as that from the lower divisions.

Again there are plenty from the midlands who follow midlands clubs.

It may not be Arsenal that does not mean people arent interested.

There wasnt that much to Nani's first goal for ManU.

A goal kick won by Rooney who plays it through for Nani. He trapped the ball almost head height which made it look special and then tucked it away well. It was a good goal but still route one.

actually it was giggs who put the ball through for nani, you got the right coloured shirt but about 40 years difference in the ages.

I can't stand Gary Lineker and his two MISERABLE "pundits", they are so unprofessional the way they lounge around "drunk" like and generally take the mickey out of less fashionable clubs. Thought the BBC were supposed to be un-biased? Other channels do a much slicker show that don't patronise.

the problem is people moan week in week out but they still watch/record it every week

now this will include home and away attendances of course but is only used as a point of reference.

If you add together chelsea, united, liverpool, city, arsenal and spurs average attendance you get

300,782

If you add together the rest of the league's average attendances you get

399,208

That shows two things -

1. the HUGE discrepancy in the fact that 6 clubs attendances account for only 99-odd thousand less than the other 14 combined!

2. if the fans of blackpool, wolves, stoke, fulham, west ham, newcastle, villa, wba, everton, us, sunderland, bolton, blackburn and wigan decided to turn off or over then motd would have to reconsider their coverage.

A few years back motd had a monopoly on footie highlights but nowadayds through sky, bt vision, virgin and other providers we can get access to footie first etc - which on sky is far better with the option to view the 45 mins of highlights - most people have access to the internet (last year 30.1 million, 60% of adults used the web daily in the uk) and there are many different way and means of viewing those highlights (such as blues world for blues fans etc).

Therefore like everything things only really change when people start voting with their feet or wallets (ie leaving or not paying anymore) - in this instance, like I say, If motd's figures halved then they would have to do something

*obviously the figs above include home and away support - and there is no guarentee everyone who attends watches motd and others who didnt attend would have done but it is used as a rough guideline figure for example purposes only

Does anybody on here really think that any neutrals are going to give a rats ass about Blues v Stoke? This would have been the one game this weekend nobody would have wanted to watch.

Does that include all the the numpty's who had left before the goal was scored... Why on earth bother coming in the first place???

It was even worse on the Sunday morning repeat, Blues came after the excrable 'community feature' that this week informed us that some schoolgirls were learning judo. Big deal.
